Identity & Status Documents
For the U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (Petitioner):
- U.S. passport (all pages with stamps if used
- U.S. birth certificate (long form only) or Naturalization Certificate
- Divorce decrees (if applicable)
- Proof of legal name change (if any)
For the Foreign Spouse (Beneficiary):
- Passport (all pages with stamps and visas)
- I-94 travel record
- Visa used to enter the U.S.
- Birth certificate (with certified English translation)
- Divorce decrees (if previously married)
- Prior immigration documents (if applicable)

Proof of Bona Fide Marriage (Relationship Evidence)
USCIS is focused on quality, not quantity. Choose evidence that tells the real story of your relationship.
Must-Haves:
- Joint lease or mortgage
- Utility bills or mail showing both names at same address
- Joint bank account statements (at least 3–6 months)
- Joint health, auto, or life insurance policies
- Tax returns filed jointly (if applicable)
- Travel records: flight tickets, hotel bookings, itineraries
- 3–5 photos from across seasons/events (with captions)
Optional but Helpful:
- Screenshots of text messages, call logs, FaceTime
- Shared subscriptions, delivery receipts, Amazon orders
- Greeting cards, emails, or letters
- Shared vehicle registration or insurance
- Proof of children born to the couple (if applicable)
